Venuka Yasassri Wickramaarachchi –

Innovative and commercially driven fashion and costume designer with over 15 years of experience in the fashion and entertainment industries. He blends creative vision with technical excellence, crafting designs that merge cultural storytelling with contemporary style.

Educated in fashion design across Sri Lanka, the UK, and Australia, he brings an international perspective to creative development and design strategy. His career spans five years with a leading Sri Lankan retail brand and more than a decade as a freelance designer, collaborating with clients and creative teams worldwide.

As the Founder and Creative Director of Diamaté by Venuka — launched in Sri Lanka in 2024 — he leads the brand’s evolution toward international expansion. Skilled in sketching, draping, pattern making, sewing, and Adobe Creative Cloud tools, he maintains a deep understanding of global fashion trends and fast-fashion cycles.

Venuka’s collections have been showcased at London Graduate Fashion Week, Aspara Fashion Festival (Kazakhstan), and the AQUA Fashion Show in Milan, earning international recognition.

An award-winning costume designer, he has designed for 10 feature films, 3 national television series, and created national costumes for 15 international beauty pageants. Passionate, proactive, and solutions-oriented, he thrives both independently and within dynamic creative teams, continually pushing boundaries in design and storytelling.
